The restaurant facility is a contemporary interpretation of the existing Cape Dutch Style gable end, simplified to its bare geometric essence. Two portal frames return onto and are supported by a central concrete slab that forms an axis that connects the reception and the Hotel to the restaurant. The minimalist steel gables define the dining spaces whilst the glazed facade stacks away to create a versatile alfresco experience. The application of honest materials gives the building an elegant industrial edge to bring Clico into the contemporary architectural context of the surrounding Rosebank environ.
